Two Troy men’s team basketball players and a women’s team basketball player have decided to enter the transfer portal.

Darian Adams and Davion Thomas of the men’s basketball team announced they would be moving on to another program.

Adams, a guard from Montgomery, Alabama, completed his third season with the Trojans in March.

“I’ve learned and experienced so much during my time at Troy, and it doesn’t feel right to say that my time at Troy has come to an end,” Adams said in a tweet. “But with that being said, I will be entering my name into the transfer portal and pursing other opportunities.”

Adams recorded the best stats of his career under Head Coach Scott Cross last season, averaging a career-high 12 points and 3 assists. Adams also led the team with an 82.8% rate from the free-throw lane.

Thomas, a forward from Columbus, Georgia, transferred to Troy from Middle Tennessee State University and played two seasons with the Trojans.

Last season against Shorter, Thomas posted 19 points in his career-high game for the Trojans.

Shanta Shaw, of the women’s basketball team, also announced her decision to enter the transfer portal.

“I would really like to thank Troy for giving me the opportunity to play for them,” Shaw said. “I learned so much and continue to learn every day.

“It doesn’t seem real that my time is over here. Now I will be entering the transfer portal.”

Shaw shone early in the 2019 season with her career-high of 11 points and four steals against Jacksonville State in November.
